Over Easy has been pinkwashed! In recognition of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, we’re temporarily shelving our yolk-yellow background and giving the site a bright pink face!
Breast cancer is second only to lung cancer as a cause of cancer-related deaths among women. According to the American Cancer Society, approximately 1.3 million women will be diagnosed with the disease this year worldwide. Roughly 465,000 — over one-third — will die from it.
I was very fortunate. In 1993 I was diagnosed with breast cancer. But thanks to surgery, chemotherapy and a lot of love and support from those who cared about me, I’m still here to write about it :-).
So ladies, love your boobies!! Feel ’em up — do your monthly breast self-exams (even more fun if you have help). Squish ’em down — get your mammograms regularly (I’m sorry, the only thing that would make mammos fun is if men could have them for us).
Guys, encourage the women you love to take care of themselves.
